FAQs
See below for common questions about our products and processes.
Product Details
All eligible products are certified organic through the USDA. Note that the United States does not have a certified organic process for trace minerals or honey. Along with our USDA Organic certification, our products are also non-GMO verified, gluten-free, and raw.
Everything is organic and raw. There is no pasteurization or heating process, and we allow the natural soil-based probiotics from yeast and beneficial bacteria to remain, which adds to the fermentation process. Most other companies, even organic producers, use a special antimicrobial wash that removes all the natural yeast and soil probiotics. This makes our products uniquely nourishing.
In short, alkaline water is used for all products containing water. We filter the water three to four times before it passes through a UV filter to kill any harmful microorganisms. The water then passes through a holding tank where it goes through a second UV filter, and is then exposed to the “love” frequency (528HZ) to harmonize the molecular structure. Reverse osmosis allows us to add an alkaline trace mineral resulting in an energized, alkaline, and mineralized water without any chemical intervention.
You will typically see an oily or waxy layer develop on the top of our bottles. This comes from the natural plant oils from turmeric, ginger roots, and hibiscus seeds. This contains anti-inflammatory properties because we extract from the whole plant, decanting the starch from the root but leaving the healthy oils present in the product.
Storage & Shelf Life
Each item has a slightly different shelf life:
Teas: 9 Months
Power Shots: 2 Years
Turmeric & Ginger Elixirs: 4 Years
Hibiscus Concentrates: 5 Years
Hot Sauce: Indefinite
Not for every product, but like the shelf life, it is slightly different for the different items. Most of our products, like the teas, power shots, and elixirs, should be refrigerated. The hibiscus concentrate can be stored in a cool dry place or a refrigerator. The hot sauce is shelf-stable. When exposed to air, oxidation may occur, darkening the product, but no harmful bacteria will be present.
At Rosas, we engage in small-batch production, which means that color and flavor can vary slightly between batches. Additionally, this is a “living” food with varying growing conditions. The moisture content of the plants and the fermentation process will naturally fluctuate. The environment in your home will also cause subtle changes as the product continues to age and ferment. We adjust the recipe for each batch based on the harvest. Each item is a truly artisan product, and Christian has many years of experience as a master craftsman.
Dietary Concerns
Yes, all of our products fit well with a vegan diet and lifestyle.
If you regularly take medication, we recommend that you discuss this with your doctor before consuming so you can make sure there won’t be any negative interactions.
While some of our products are safe for consumption, it is best to consult a doctor before partaking. Products containing hibiscus should be avoided since it can pose a risk to the fetus and the infant.
Yes. All of our products are gluten-free. They are also USDA Certified Organic, non-GMO verified, and raw.
Shipping Concerns
This is not necessary since we ship with 3-day priority shipping. All the products are safe with short periods of no refrigeration. During the summer, we do ship our Golden Triangle Power Shot with Honey with ice packs.
Due to the fermentation process, the products are under pressure when shipped in warm temperatures. Some leakage is normal. It is best to refrigerate the item immediately upon receipt to reduce the pressure from natural fermentation gases.
